Full text / XML publishing (option)
This optional Continew module enables publishers to publish their material online, for either a subscription or a one-off payment.
The full text publishing module will accept HTML, XML, PDFs, text files and a range of multimedia files. Your content will appear to be completely integrated into site, and is fully indexed by our search engine. If you have your own XML format, Continew may be configured to accept it. Your content is protected both by our access and entitlement system and a process that identifies the user of the content.
If you want to develop an XML workflow, we will be happy to consult with you on that as a separate service. Continewity has over ten years experience of developing XML workflows. Continew now features an optional authoring and content workflow.
Your online access will appear alongside your normal products. Consequently, you can cross-promote online access, physical product and downloadable products without any complexity. You may set up product profiles so customers can buy one-off access or time-limited access. Products may be individual chapters or complete chapters.
Users can buy multiple licences to access your content, and these may be shared with other people, using an automated token system – and once used, a token may be not be reused.
Buying access to online content happens immediately, without any intervention from your team.
Subscribers to your online content can customize their content. Users can add bookmarks, tags, annotations and re-order their chapters to suit their learning experience. Users can also choose to share their content with other subscribers.
Subscribing customers may share a limited number of pages with non-subscribing customers. This option may be turned off, but it provides good-quality visitors who are well motivated to upgrade to paid access.
Continew utilizes a generic book DTD for its full-text content. Included in the price of this module is a tool to convert your XML into the generic XML used by the platform. Alternatively, you may freely use our DTD for your book content. continewity will provide additional support to you in developing an XML workflow as part of our consultancy services.
